Chapter 2: Motion along a Straight Line
Study Plan
The concepts of velocity and acceleration introduced in Chapter 2 will permit us to answer the following questions:
- What is the magnitude of the acceleration during the launch? (Example 3, page 40)
- How is the distance traveled by the aircraft related to the acceleration and the time? (Example 5, page 44)
- How does the acceleration during launch compare with the acceleration of free fall? (Example 11, page 53)
Organize
- Prepare for lecture by reading the assigned sections from Chapter 2 in your textbook or ebook. This will provide an organizing framework for concepts introduced in lecture, and help you take better notes.
- Take the checkup quiz and work the Checkup questions in your textbook to assess your understanding of basic concepts. Take note of any topics you need to review further.
