Fred Strebeigh (b. 1951)

American nonfiction writer and teacher. Born in New York City and raised in Nonquitt, Massachusetts, Strebeigh attended Yale University, where he now teaches nonfiction writing in the English department and the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. His work, ranging from natural and environmental history to the legal system, has appeared in the Atlantic Monthly, Audubon, Legal Affairs, the New Republic, Smithsonian, the New York Times Magazine, and Sierra magazine.
