Michael C. Munger (b. 1958)
Chairman of the political science department at Duke University. A native of Florida, he earned degrees in economics at Davidson College and Washington University in St. Louis. In 2008, Munger ran (unsuccessfully) for governor of North Carolina. Besides studying the ideology of racism in the antebellum south, he is an expert in public policy, focusing on how elections are conducted and financed. He is the author of, among other books, Policy Analysis (2000).
