Robert Voas

Senior research scientist at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation in Calverton, Maryland. A former astronaut training officer for NASA, Voas holds a PhD in psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles. After leaving NASA, Voas spent several years in the Peace Corps before joining the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he served as director of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Program Evaluation. A member of the national board of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), Voas is the author of many articles on motor vehicle accidents and alcohol abuse, particularly among teenagers.
