Phil Holland

Chair of the English Department at Anatolia College, a secondary school in Thessaloniki, Greece. A graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of London, Holland joined the Anatolia faculty in 1996. Active in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages), a voluntary organization of English teachers, he specializes in helping Greek students of English master English pronunciation. To prospective writers and teachers, Holland offers the following advice: “You had better have an interest, not to say a passion, for the English language. . . . English is your element, immerse yourself at every opportunity.”
